1981年（昭和56年）10月、当社は、インスタント写真システム“フォトラマ”を発表し、全国一斉に発売する。当社が長年にわたって開発を進めてきた“フォトラマ”は、すばらしい画質を実現し、国内外に、世界の写真業界に、大きな反響を巻き起こす。カラーフィルム製造技術と高感度オートポジ写真乳剤、ダイレリーサー、TCLなど新しい技術の結合によって生まれた“フォトラマ”は、コンベンショナル写真に勝るとも劣らない鮮やかで豊かな色の世界をつくり出す。撮影後約60秒で見事なカラー写真ができあがるというすばらしい特長によって、写真の新しい楽しみ方・新しい活用法をつくり出し、写真の世界を広げていく。
